Skin Laundry — The Beginning

This post is a little different than usual, for a couple of reasons. First of all, it contains 3 videos below, all documenting the same topic on different days. Second of all, it’s the first time I am taking you below the surface, quite literally! In these three videos, I am wearing absolutely NO makeup whatsoever (minus the middle video…just eye makeup is left in that one). The reason for this is that I am starting laser treatments at Skin Laundry, and I want you guys to follow me through my short journey!

I get to do 15 treatments, all of which only last about 8 minutes or so. I am praying that it helps with the acne scarring I have on both of my cheeks, and the uneven skin tone on my cheekbones. These may not have been very noticeable in the past due to my makeup and readily available editing tools on the computer, but they are things that I am extremely self conscious of when not wearing makeup, so it was important to me that I be very transparent with you guys!

I have done 2 treatments so far, and I am loving it! I haven’t seen any results yet, but I am excited to see my skin transform a bit in the next couple of treatments. If you guys have any questions that you want me to ask the nurses at Skin Laundry, please email me or comment below! I am new to this whole laser thing too, so if it’s something you’ve been considering, ASK ME NOW and I will ask at my next treatment!!

  1. I’d love to know if this is safe/suitable for all skin types. Also, can it be used along with topical acne treatments? Thanks for sharing your experience!

    1. Kristin!! Thank you so much for your questions! I will ask at my next appointment and get back to you ASAP 🙂 xo

    2. Okay so I found out the deets! The only skin type the cannot perform the laser treatment on is something called Type 6 skin (I think that’s what she called it) which is basically dark skin women! This is simply because the laser targets dark pigmentation, in attempt to reverse it. SO, women with dark skin can have side effects such as permanent marks on their skin where the laser tried to “correct” the darkness of their skin!

Also,it can be used with topical acne treatments, but not all. When you do your first treatment, they show you a list of items that it cannot be used with. I am on two topicals, one for morning and one for the evening, and I have had no problem. My evening topical is a bit more drying, so on days where I do the Skin Laundry treatments, I just don’t apply the evening topical. It’s all worked out just fine 🙂
