Can you believe it is September already? I’m eager to see what the weather does here in California; it seems like the past couple of years, the summer weather has lingered and it doesn’t end up feeling like fall until November or something crazy. It’s hard to say, but either way this time of year makes me so nostalgic.
I graduated college in 2013, but I still miss that first day of school feeling. A new year, new clothes in your closet, and fresh school supplies to start you off on the right foot. I still have a running joke with my mom where I ask her if she will take me back to school shopping…sadly it stopped working HA sad face.
Something else that makes this time of year bittersweet is the fact that my little sister now attends the university I graduated from; whenever she tells me stories, or calls me while she’s walking to class I get so sad! I miss school so much sometimes, and though I don’t miss the homework, I do wish I could go back and do a couple of things over; memories I would give anything to relive, and mistakes that (of course in retrospect) I wish I could have went about differently.
One thing about the university I attended was that as Freshman, we weren’t allowed to have cars. It wasn’t a huge deal most of the time, until of course you needed something STAT from the store and the off-campus shuttle wasn’t running -__- Looking back, I could have avoided so many little emergencies just by shopping smarter!
On a college budget, you don’t want to spend very much on, well…anything really. Especially anything and all things related to bathroom supplies. I truly believe the first dose of reality gets served to you when you run out of shampoo and your mom hasn’t stocked the cabinets with fresh bottles (because well, you’re not at home anymore), and you have to go to the store only to realize that the high-end shampoo she always buys you is $25 and you’re like “UHM WHAT?! I’m not paying for anything over $5!!!!” Yep…welcome to college/real life.
This is so true with razors too! They are so dang expensive that you end up just avoiding replacing your current razor and hoping that you can get away with it. For me, that doesn’t fly. I have extremely sensitive skin, so replacing my razor often is a MUST. On my recent trip to Walmart I realized that (1) their prices really are ridiculously lower than everywhere else and (2) disposable razors have been making a drastic comeback, and should no longer be overlooked (ahem…I’m calling myself out because I have always cursed disposable razors…I stand corrected).
The Schick Quattro Disposable Razor for Women is a sleek design that features 4 blades, so it doesn’t even feel like a disposable razor. I personally can’t shave with anything below 4 blades (which gets pricey), and the fact that I got 4 of these razors for under $6 was INSANE. Had I known about this in college, my expensive trips down the beauty aisle could have been drastically more cost-efficient.
But, you can’t change the past! You can only focus on the now and the future. And NOW I am a believer in Schick Disposable Razors. I tried this one out and I give it a huge thumbs up. The free sample of the Schick Hydro Silk that came in my pack of razors is also amazing…you can’t go wrong!
