I find myself frustrated more often than not that I don’t have pieces that I can “just throw on and go” and still manage to feel like I put in effort. Truth of the matter is, when I am shopping…it’s really hard for me to buy basics, or things that don’t have that wow factor. I always save them for my “next” shopping trip…which never ends up actually happening! When I saw this dress with vertical stripes (as opposed to my go-to horizontal stripes) on Romwe.com, I really felt like it was in the middle of being a basic, but also a dress that people say “wow that’s so cute where is it from?!”
I love the higher neck in the front, and the normal-low rise in the back. It’s also extremely light and airy! In the sun, I would say you should probably be prepared to wear a slip (or tie a chambray around your waist like I did in this post). At night time, you can get away with no slip because the dress is black! I paired it with my new favorite wedges to make it feel a little more summery…but I have also worn it at night with a black leather jacket and some heels to make it feel a little more dressed up! So far, it’s been proving to be a good piece to have in my closet…at just a whopping $11 😉 Yes please, & thank you!
(Wearing a size Small – I am 5’4″ 1/2, so this length was perfect for me. It has adjustable straps as well so you can customize the fit!)

That dress is soooo cute! I love the vertical stripes, a fun spin on a classic.
I am totally with you on the whole I always save the basics for the next trip thing! Like I don’t want to spend money on the “boring” things, I want a piece that when I see it in my closet I will be excited to wear it. But then sometimes I just need the basics. For me, the best way to win here is to buy the basic shapes in a fun color. That way I can still get a little excited about a basic sweater! 😉

Thanks babygirrrrrl! Such a struggle. #firstworldproblems 😉
I LOVE this dress! I’ve been having the same dilemma and am on a mission to streamline my closet. I don’t want to have to put too much thought into days I need to be out the door in five minutes. This is totally one of those dresses you could throw on and go! So cute.

Right?!?! Same here!! Thanks love!
Love the stripes on that dress! Unique but chic! Also love the high-neck trend since it’s a great way to balance outs crop tops or shorts!

Thanks so much love!!
Cute dress! I have the SAME issue when it comes to shopping for more basic pieces without the wow factor. I know I need them, especially tops for jeans, but the fun and fancy items keep winning.

Ugh, it’s the worst! I guess it’s a good “problem” to have though 😉 We will learn one day!
