Birkenstocks: the big clunky sandal that is probably the most comfortable shoe in existence, but not exactly the most, shall we say, fashionable, in many people’s opinions. You’ve probably seen this style of sandal around more frequently than usual lately due to the recreation of the coveted style by Zara, Steve Madden, Marc Jacobs, and even Rebecca Minkoff to name just a few. And thanks to Refinery29, we have 13 Reasons on why we should willingly accept these shoes back into our wardrobes.
I wasn’t quite convinced or compelled to spend a pretty penny on this sandal (even the originator of the shoe charges upward of $100 for a classic pair), but I was strangely enthralled by the sudden take-over of the style. Thankfully, good ol’ Target came to party with the best of them, producing these sandals in a number of different colors, adorned with some sassy studs for that #targetdoesitagain flare that they’re known for. (There’s even a pink version of this sandal on Target.com…minus the studs).
I will say that these are by far the most comfortable sandals I have ever worn, but I am still warming up to them. Either way, I finally know what all the hype is about; after all you can’t knock it ’til you try it! Tell me what you think about this style below!!
