The truth behind Polka Dots & Sailor Stripes is that when I am not shooting or going anywhere special, I tend to opt for comfort. Generally, to me comfort means my favorite denim, whether it be shorts or pants…and a comfy t-shirt. This pair of denim is the newest addition into my closet, and I cannot believe how comfortable they are. Back in the day I was an avid American Eagle denim junky. It wasn’t until recently that I actually explored back into the store only to find out they have amazing black distressed cutoffs like these, and some of the best boyfriend jeans on the market. This particular cut is taking me way back to when the best of both worlds was found in my favorite pair of capris.
The nice thing about these pants are the rips – they’re more distressed than most of the pants I own, but the patches behind the rips allow me to still feel 100% comfortable in them. I also love the ‘release hem,’ which adds a bit more interest with the distressed, uneven coloring.
Though I will most likely dress this denim casually, I also wanted to show you guys an alternative look, perfect for upcoming summer nights around the bonfire. This extremely Deep V-back Sweater is so cozy, but is also a good simple option to pair with distressed denim such as this AEO pair. This amazing bra from The Bra Lab also adds a lot to the look, without compromising the overall sassy-ness of the revealing back.
