A common theme that comes from my blog during these early Fall/Winter months is how the weather never truly dips below the low 60’s, maybe high 50’s if we’re lucky. This translates into figuring out how to make my outfits feel Fall oriented, while still recognizing that it may actually be 75 degrees on Christmas morning again (crossing my fingers it’s pouring down rain and gloomy all 24 hours of Christmas).
This has posed a challenge in the past, but here is my first attempt at making a very summer-appropriate cutout maxi dress into a semi-fall transitional look!
Making an outfit more fall-oriented is truly quite easy. Simply add neutrals to the mix, and accessorize with darker pieces rather than lighter ones!
For this look, I paired my black lace up gladiators, black bucket bag, black aviators, and tan fedora (best $10 I ever spent, seriously) to make this sky blue dress look a little darker in a sense. The black accessories distract from the Bohemian trend, however I paired this stunning Black Obsidian Cuff to play up the trend a bit and to add a unique statement piece.
I’m hoping that the temperatures drop sooner rather than later this year so we can start to enjoy Fall as early as the rest of the United States…but I won’t be holding my breath. Until then, catch me styling summer-to-fall looks for the next few weeks. #sorrynotsorry #butreallyitsannoying
{Sizing info: wearing a size Small in the dress. Length is perfect, waist fits very loose, however I like it that way!}

Love the way you styled this outfit to make it have a fall vibe! I feel bad that you don’t get to experience the crisp air and gorgeous trees changing colors in California 🙁 I hope it gets cool enough for you to at least wear a leather jacket 😉 xo Kimmie
I know it’s such a bummer! But I know I would be complaining if I was too cold as well, so I just need to keep my mouth shut 😉
Love the way you styled your dress.
