Fall Transitioning Decoded

If you are from the West Coast, this time of the year can be a wardrobe-challenge and a half. It’s not quite cold enough to bust out the Fall attire, yet it is nearly the month of October and wearing your denim cutoffs just doesn’t feel acceptable. I have found that while it is okay to stick to the lighter fabrics that made up your summer outfits just to keep your cool, it’s also okay to define these pieces as “Fall-appropriate-transition-pieces” for those of us stuck in this high temp zone.

This dress is the perfect example. While the colors and the fabric are very light and summer-inspired, the darker details enabled me to pair it with my black felt hat, which gives it a more Fall-oriented feeling overall. The sleeves of the dress also push it towards the changing season, making you look like you’re dressing for October, even while it’s still feeling like July.
