Fashion [History] Friday

“Today in 1971, Gabrielle “Coco” Chanel, one of most influential fashion designers in history, passed away. She was 87 years old and her passing left an incomparable mark on the industry.” – Stylitics

Chanel continues to reinvent the wheel of fashion as we know it each and every season. Karl Lagerfeld has carried on Coco’s legacy in ways that set the fashion house apart from every high fashion brand in its class, and is the cause of fast fashion retailers keeping the Trickle-Down theory in motion.

If it weren’t for Chanel, we wouldn’t have those fabulous LBD’s hanging in our closets, we may still be wearing corsets, and there would be no such thing as a woman’s power suit. Needless to say, she did us all a favor by spreading her talent and ideas across the world of fashion. So today, we remember Chanel and all of her glory!

I have two lovely ladies in San Diego, one works from her home and one works at a salon called Millicent and Co.! If you happen to go there ask for Maddie! (619) 464-3166. It’s a fabulous salon 🙂
