Hotel Bachelorette Party 101

Tomorrow my best friend (that I have known since KINDERGARTEN) is walking down the aisle to say “I DO” to the love of her life. It’s about time I post about her bachelorette party that I threw!

PLANNING A WEDDING? Read all about my experience here!

I simply cannot contain my excitement to stand beside them on their special day!! A couple of weekends back we celebrated the bride-to-be with a bachelorette weekend of wine tasting around Temecula! {Shout out to West Coast Chauffeur and Transportation for the BEST experience ever…literally you guys it was an effortless process from start to finish — I highly highly recommend it!!} I wanted to take you guys on a tour of our hotel room, and pass along some advice I have for the other maid of honors out there trying to make their best friend’s bachelorette party extra special!

It’s can be hard to make a generic hotel room feel well decorated and bachelorette appropriate, so I gathered a few tips + tricks to share with you guys, along with the best shop E V E R  to get decorations from, called Luna Wishes Studio, for any fun event you’re planning!

Top 5 Hotel Bachelorette Party Tips & Tricks

1. MAKE SURE the hotel has some sort of table — this way you can set it up as your ‘candy bar,’ or something to the same effect! ALSO, confirm with the hotel that you have a refrigerator in the room! Trust me, you would think this is standard, but I was in a nice hotel in Vegas last year and there was no fridge…makes no sense, but it happens!

2. It’s better to go over-the-top with decorations! Why? Because, it’s better to have too many options than not enough! I brought some decorations other than the ones from Luna Wishes Studio, and even though they weren’t exactly a match, it was fun to hang them throughout the hotel to make the bare walls a little more fun! EX: The gold garland for a ‘photo booth’ wall, and the pink puff balls hanging in the doorway to the bathroom! These are both minor additions, but they make the plain space feel a little bit more girly.

3. Go to the dollar store for all of your dishes!! Instead of buying new, nice plates…or bringing your own, go to your local dollar store; they have the best trays and dishes to bring for your appetizers! It was amazing on the morning of check-out because clean up was easy, everything could go in the trash! Plus, you will have the trays covered in food for most of the time, so no one will even take notice to what the food is on.

4. Bring something to hide the TV! I decided to make a Bachelorette Jeopardy game, and the board I put it on was perfect to hide the TV, which was the center of attention! Having the TV as the center can be somewhat distracting, and makes the room feel less girly. The jeopardy game was the perfect distraction, and it went perfect with the decor! Also, bringing something to tape to, or hang over the artwork on the walls is a nice plus. Artwork is usually stuck to the walls, so you do not have the option to take these down and hide them for the weekend. Which leads me to…

5. REARRANGE! If you walk into the room and it doesn’t feel right, move things around! I moved the table into the corner so we had more space, and we made use of the chairs in other ways. We also took down lamps and put them under the desk. This freed up space for food and the mini champagne bottles {found at my local grocery store}, as well as the goody bags. These small details add that much more to the overall feeling of the room!

    1. They actually came in the package from Luna Wishes Studio, just as cute decor/protection for the items while they were being shipped, but I’m sure you can find them at Party City! 🙂

  1. Thank you so much for the entire run down. Im am literally going through this planning right now. But only going out one night. How many people where in the hotel room at one time? I was debating on getting a suite or something a bit bigger than your standard hotel room size. Did it feel cramped at all?

    1. So glad my post could help you a bit! I booked us two rooms and made sure there was a door in between that we could open to make it feel like there was one big room. That gave us 4 queen beds, so we had 8 girls sleeping comfortably! It ended up being perfect because we had all party decor and gifts in one room, and the other was the room you could go to if you needed an escape from the party for a bit.

  2. Hi!
I found your blog on Pinterest and am so glad I did! I am in the process of planning a bachelorette weekend in Temecula, too! 🙂 I was wondering if you had any hotel or restaurant recommendations? Thank you!

    1. Yay! Welcome! 🙂 I’m so glad you found it!!

It really depends on how close you want to be to the wineries and what your budget is, but here is a great lineup of the best from TripAdvisor! There are a good amount of options, but you can’t really go wrong! Even with a lower budget hotel, you can still decorate the cute room, and then spend most of your time out and about wine tasting and such! My recommendation would be to check out which hotels are close to restaurants for dinner, that was the only problem we ran into on this Bach trip! It worked out in the end thanks to the ability to Uber anywhere you want, but just keep that detail in mind 🙂

      Have so much fun! xo

    1. Ah it was so long ago that I’m having trouble remembering! But I feel like it was probably Vons or just any grocery store! 🙂

  3. Hi there!
Would you be able to share some details on your jeopardy game? I’d like to create the same kind of game and curious as to what categories and questions you used. Thanks so much for sharing!

    1. Hi!

Yay so exciting!! It was such a fun little game to play!

What I did was asked the bride 20 questions about herself, her husband to be, and their relationship. First kiss, who said I love you first, who held who’s hand first, what is their anniversary, what is their wedding date, what is their first dance song, what is the color of the wedding, what is the honeymoon destination how many kids did they want etc. Anything you can think of really!

The more detailed the question (remembering a specific detail or date) I made worth more points. The easy ones were the ones more specific to the bride, especially if the bridal party is made up of close friends and family members, so those were worth less points.

Some fun categories can include “The Bride” “The Groom” The Couple” “The Wedding” “The Future” “The Fun Facts”

      I hope that helps!

But please ask any other questions you may have if that doesn’t really explain what you were hoping to find out! 🙂
