I consider myself a risk taker when it comes to my outfits (my fashion professor would say “Innovator” or “Early Adopter”), but there is always that one trend that I am just slower to adopt than usual.
This season it was suede. Now, part of this hesitation came from the fact that I live in Los Angeles. AKA the city that LITERALLY WILL NOT COOL DOWN UNTIL JANUARY. So…the thought of wearing anything suede sounded terrifyingly constricting and…well, sweaty.
The other hesitation was that I just haven’t ever owned anything suede that didn’t go on my feet or my shoulder. I am all about an incredible pair of suede shoes, or a to-die-for suede handbag…but when we start talking dresses and skirts, this California girl starts to stress.
Luckily, I was able to partner with Shelvie Jean this season to try out a few new things that I haven’t in the past, and this Lace Up Faux Suede Dress was one of them! {Shout out to the lace-up detail on this dress…that’s another trend I’ve been DYING to try! But, homegirl might need a boob job before that can happen #realtalk}
Anyways…this dress is SO CUTE! It’s amazing because it is so thin, so I can actually wear it! The suede is also so incredibly soft, and not stiff whatsoever. I am also loving the front pockets. They just make it that much cuter.
I paired this dress with my black bucket bag, and black lace up flats…it would also be so cute with black mules, but those are still on the wishlist!
Size Info:
This dress is a looser fit, but I decided to size up to a Medium so I could make sure that it would hang off of my body instead of hug it in any not-so-small areas! I love this size and I would recommend going up if you want this relaxed fit. If you would like it to be a little tighter, then buy your normal size!
