If you caught Wednesday’s blog post, then you saw that I mentioned I am trying out some new Fall trends with Shelvie Jean! This olive cape is the second trend that I’ve been slow-to-adopt, but I am so glad that I finally got my hands on one!
I immediately fell in love with this beautiful olive color, and couldn’t wait to pair it with my light wash flare denim from Fidelity Denim. It was the perfect combo, and both are SO incredibly comfortable that it was an outfit I would even consider traveling in! {You know, just in case the paparazzi wanted to snap a couple pics & what not 😉 HA jkjk}
This olive cape is a little bit longer than a lot of other capes I’ve seen, so I experimented with tucking in the front and also leaving it out. The verdict is that it’s more flattering tucked in. It’s good to show off your legs and waistline when wearing something SO flowy; you don’t want to get lost in the fabric!
Of course, it’s up to you and whatever you’re comfortable with, but my recommendation would be to tuck in a small section near your left or right hip.
Side note: the other night in church, the woman behind me told me that she thought I was Rachel Zoe from behind (ummm THANK YOU RANDOM LADY I’M SO HONORED!!!!!). I don’t think anyone has ever said that to me before, but this outfit totally (& unintentionally) reminds me of the fashion queen.
What style icon do you guys look to for the most inspiration? Snapchat me your answers! I want to see who inspires you! 🙂
