Racing Stripes

When I was living in San Diego, one of my favorite summer activities was to visit Del Mar for the horse races (also, the Del Mar fair…there’s just something about a deep fried Oreo and a strip of photobooth pictures once a year that really makes my heart happy). I’m so sad that I will not be able to attend Opening Day this Thursday…but in its honor I decided to throw together the outfit I would be wearing 😉

This romper from Sheinside (SO sad to say it’s sold out now) is so oddly adorable. It looks like an oversized drop-waist dress, but has the comfort of shorts so that you have a little bit more freedom (also perfect for a picnic at Malibu Wines, which is where I wore it this past Saturday!). Even though it’s sold out online, go to your local Zara store! They have the exact same one on MAJOR SALE right now because they’re having their crazy blowout sale where everything is like 50% off…aka my favorite time to raid Zara.

Anyone have plans to go to the races this Thursday? If so, let me know, I want to be on the lookout for your amazing outfit & over-the-top floppy hat!! (I recommend a hat with stripes, HA shocker) Because let’s face it, that’s the only reason opening day is so exciting…right ladies? 😉
