It’s no secret that San Diego is FILLED with an extensive list of fine eatery’s that satisfy just about anyone’s taste buds. But the thing that’s more satisfying than the always-a-45-minute-wait restaurants is stumbling upon those hidden gems that seem to be completely hidden from anyone who doesn’t know of their existence. The Brockton Villa in La Jolla may not be a secret, but its a cliffhanging cottage that’s just precariously perched above La Jolla Cove, almost hiding from the hustle and bustle in the above town.
Breakfast is by far, without a doubt, my absolute most favorite meal of the day. There’s so many options! An Acai Bowl from OB, yogurt granola and fruit, an English muffin, or in the case of my graduation breakfast, banana pancakes from Brockton Villa with a side of fresh fruit. To DIE.
My second visit to Brockton Villa was last week for my (newly engaged, ahh!) best friends 22nd birthday breakfast. I had to treat her to something sweet! This time, she ordered the pancakes, and I tried out what they are most famous for: the Coast Toast. It’s a soufflé inspired version of French toast. It melts in your mouth and tempts you to stuff yourself to maximum capacity.
This goes without saying, if you have yet to go, it’s your turn to visit Brockton Villa!
