I think it is the Valentine’s day spirit that has been fueling my fire for pinks and reds, but lately I haven’t been able to wear much of any other color! That is part of the inspiration that created this red outfit. I have also recently been making an effort to rework some things in my wardrobe that I once loved, yet have since neglected as time goes on. There’s a reason you buy the things you buy, and if you’re like me and sometimes wear something only once (I know that’s so bad to admit out loud) then I urge you to revisit those pieces in your closet to mix it up for a change. You may rediscover a forgotten favorite.
This top was worn in a post here, and it was a fun pattern mix up! I tried to work with it in a monochromatic way this time, and I actually really liked the turnout. I would normally never pair a red pant with a red-dominant patterned top, but for some reason I was really drawn to the combo. To break up the red I added this navy trench coat that I got in Italy when I studied abroad (the store was called Promod, and it was literally right outside my apartment…how cruel is that?) To keep the focus on the bold colors I was working with above, I paired my nude flats with the outfit. I got a couple funny looks with all the red I was sporting, but hey, the looks are what make going out on a limb worth while!

Love this! Totally forgot about Promod. My first purchase from Spain was at Promod. It was a giant, pink knitted scarf & it served me well in the freezing cold.
I think I went in almost every other day before I went up to my apartment…it was not good for my bank account!
