It’s officially been almost 2 months since Brennan got LASIK and I don’t even know where to begin. The entire process has been so seamless that any reservations we had previous to the procedure have completely disappeared after seeing how easy it’s been.
Dr. Schneider and his team made the process so effortless; I cannot recommend them enough. Not only were they incredibly helpful and patient with us as we went through our list of questions, but they were also so dedicated to making sure every day went as smoothly as possible for Brennan after the procedure as well.
We received multiple emails, phone calls, and text alerts from the office checking in to make sure all was well and that he was aware of all upcoming post-op follow-up appointments.
It was so reassuring to know that the office was just a phone call away should we need anything. And the best part is that we didn’t need anything! YOU GUYS – I cannot tell you enough HOW EASY LASIK is. I know I’m not the one that went through it, BUT, I did sit in the operating room and watched the whole thing go down!
One of Brennan’s eyes took 6 seconds, and the other took 10 seconds. Can you believe it’s THAT easy to fix your vision if you’re a candidate for LASIK?!
It was great to be able to watch Brennan undergo the procedure because it was very clear to me that all of the steps the team took to ensure he would be comfortable throughout the entire process were 100% effective.
As we entered the office the day-of at 1:45 PM Brennan was handed 2 Valium pills immediately. He was then taken directly to the back to undergo a few quick tests to make sure all was good with his eyes and nothing had changed since his consultation.
After the tests, he was given numbing eye drops and had a quick chat with Dr. Schneider to make sure everyone was on the same page.
As soon as the Valium and eye drops kicked in, Brennan was taken into the operating room, in the chair for about 8 minutes total, given clear protective goggles, took a photo with the doctor, and we were out the door by 2:21 PM. CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT?! Perfect vision in just 36 minutes.
As we left he was given another Valium pill to take care of any discomfort that may occur; this also helped him sleep on the drive home and for about 4 hours after we got home.
After his nap, his vision was slightly blurry but he could see! The fact that there was essentially no downtime other than a few hours of napping and slight discomfort (he felt a little bit of a burn and his eyes were somewhat sore – he described it as if he had slept in contacts) solidified the fact that everyone needs to consider LASIK if they are a candidate.
As working adults, or even if you’re a student ( people as young as 18 can get LASIK ) we have to be selective with the time off we allocate to certain things…so the fact that you can do LASIK and be fully recovered and back on your feet the next day is huge.
The next day we drove back for a quick follow-up appointment with the doctor to check on how Brennan was recovering, and he already had 20/15 vision. (!!!!) Dr. Schneider explained that as your eyes heal, your vision will continue to improve (sometimes slight blurriness, itchy/scratchiness will occur while your eyes are healing fully).
Since the first follow-up appointment, we’ve had 2 additional appointments to monitor Brennan’s progress and he’s continued to improve. The best part is that every appointment has been under 10 minutes. Quick, efficient, and easy – basically everything Dr. Schneider’s office handles ends up being this way 🙂
They’ve been SO GRACIOUS to offer a discounted rate for Blonde Collective readers! The offer expires on February 11, but you still have time to book.
SchneiderLASIK is offering $1300 off both eyes – meaning you can get them both done for the price of $4100! And don’t forget that they offer 24 months of financing with 0 down and 0% interest. They also accept payment using FSA and HSA accounts as well.
If you can, I HIGHLY suggest jumping on this before the offer expires! The first consultation is free, so it doesn’t hurt to just see if you’re a candidate and chat with the doctor to learn more about the process 🙂
