Let’s talk about denim skirts. They’re literally EVERYWHERE right now. When they started to slowly make their way back onto the fashion scene, I knew that they would eventually explode in a big way, but I was still hesitant on when it was time to adopt one back into my wardrobe.
Back in the day (like…7th grade) it was every girl’s wardrobe staple; the mini-skirt from Abercrombie or Hollister, or both (because obviously they’re different right?!). I still remember the two styles I owned, their different washes and different hems, and exactly how I used to style them (moment of silence for the fact that yes, I was that girl with the mini skirt, polo, and UGG boots on #basic).
Fast forward to my early 20’s, and here I am, welcoming back the very thing that I willingly threw out of my closet once it was time for the trend to die (or maybe I just washed it so much that it stopped being appropriate for school/life in general…because I think that happened to every other pair of shorts I ever bought from Hollister too).
Nonetheless, I am diggin’ it. This whole denim button down skirt thing is an amazing update to the ever-coveted denim skirt. I also love that the trend is transitioning from summer to fall effortlessly. Especially with the incorporation of the suede versions; what other summer styles do you think will carryover as Fall Fashion trends? Serious question. Snapchat me your answers!!!!! {ashbeegash}
Here’s what ELLE.com thinks about Denim, and some Street Style Inspiration for your Fall Wardrobe from MaireClaire.com. Enjoy!
I styled my denim on a VERY hot day the other weekend, so I opted for a crop top to go with it. I did re-style it in a more Fall-oriented manner, that I will be featuring in the weeks to come, so stay tuned!
Size Information:
This skirt is $11!!!!!!!!!!! That being said, it’s important to PAY ATTENTION to the sizing (these websites can be tricky, but amazing if you know how to shop from them)! I actually ordered a Small, BUT, if I could switch it out easily (which isn’t the case, that’s why you need to pay attention to measurements!) I would have gone with a Medium. The small definitely fits, but it doesn’t leave very much room to do things like…eat and breathe and all of that important stuff. SO, you would probably be okay with your normal size, but it would be extra comfortable one size up.
