DYEing over Kelly Cardenas Salon

There’s no better feeling than a fresh cut + color on an early Saturday morning (if you don’t color your hair, then you GO girl). A couple weeks ago, I was treated to THE MOST AMAZING experience at Kelly Cardenas Salon in Hillcrest. I had no idea what I was walking into when I entered the stylish little salon tucked away behind some storefronts – the cute entrance alone got me excited. You guys – I kid you not…this is the BEST salon experience I have ever had.

I was greeted by my hair stylist Amber (she’s amazing, btw), who showed me to the robe room (I meannnn, really?!). After changing into my robe, she gave me a tour of the hip new salon that was celebrating their grand opening. One of my favorite details was the fact that every station had a blow dryer hanging from the ceiling above, and when the stylist needed to use it, she simply pulled on it to activate – how cool is that?!

Kelly Cardenas Salon also proudly mixes their colors right in the middle of the salon at their Color Bar. They let their customers see exactly what goes into their concoctions, while simultaneously educating on every product. Amber elaborated on anything and everything she did during my appointment – whether it was a serum she liked or did not like, the brushes she uses, the color I was getting, you name it.

And drum-roll please…the best part about this entire appointment (aside from the amazing results) was the moment I got my hair washed, because GUESS what. The hair washing room is a secluded area with dim lighting, candles, calming music, spa-type scents, and a 10 minute head/neck massage in between the washing of the hair. I swear, if you are in need of a new salon, there is no reason you should not visit the Kelly Cardenas team. They have locations in Utah, San Diego, Las Vegas, Chicago, and Carlsbad, so you’ve got lots of options. And the nice thing about this team is they actually work as an entire unit – my hair was worked on mainly by Amber, but her team members jumped in throughout the entire appointment to either engage in conversation, tell me about their Kelly Cardenas Salon journey, or help Amber out with whatever she needed. It was ahhhmazing.
