Since 2019 began, I have been on 13 trips – and I still have 6 more that are already on my calendar for the remainder of the year.
It’s safe to say that I’ve got packing down to a science.
After laying out my clothes to get a general idea of what I’m going to wear each day, I strategically separate everything into packing cubes (highly recommend you get yourself some of these – they have CHANGED my packing game completely and make re-packing to come home a breeze)
Next, I move to the beauty products – which, mind you…have their own Vanity Case from CalPak that I cannot travel without. It keeps everything in one place, and has a little bit of an “organized chaos” vibe to it. Emphasis on the organized, though.
I tend to spend a good amount of time packing my beauty supplies, and do my best to think about how my skin is going to react to whatever climate I’ll be in. Especially if the destination requires a plane ride.
These details have a huge say in what makeup I’ll be wearing or not wearing, what masks I pack, and even what acne fighting products I bring along (though you know it’ll most likely be an endless supply of ZitStickas).
The one thing that never changes though, is the need for a good SPF.
REGARDLESS of the weather, it’s 10000% necessary to be wearing SPF at all times! I WISH I had this mindset when I was younger ( read about my addiction to a tan face before I realized what it was going to do to said face ).
Even though we’ve been hit with some pretty terrible “May Gray” and soon to be “June Gloom,” it’s still vital to be wearing SPF any time you go outside.
Olay has been my go-to for SPF for a while now (evidence in that last post) and their newest Olay SUN SPF 35 has been my SPF of choice since I got my hands on it.
First of all, my skin is SO SENSITIVE when it comes to SPF (who knew) so the fact that I can wear this daily without any breakouts is a huge win. Second of all, it’s full of antioxidants. Third, and one of the best factors for my skin, is that it has shine control, making it the perfect SPF for under makeup and all day wear. Lastly, it’s so compact that you can take it wherever you go! In your purse, your gym bag, your carry on, your glovebox – you get it…moral of the story is you never have to be without.
I cannot say enough good things about this SPF, and you better believe it came with me on my most recent Napa trip! Sure…the temps didn’t get over 70 degrees and it may or may not have rained on us at some point…but you can never be too safe with SPF. I’m trying to keep this skin as healthy as possible for as LONG as possible, thank you very much.
