PARK CITY TRAVEL GUIDE

Back in January we went to Park City, Utah to stay at Westgate’s Park City Resort; if you were following our road trip to Minnesota this summer, you know we stopped in Park City for one night – we liked it in the summer, but knew it was definitely a ski town we had to revisit once it snowed. After experiencing the town in both climates, I 10/10 recommend you take a trip in peak snow season. It was not only dreamy everywhere we went, but the energy in the city is buzzing with people going from the slopes to the restaurants and back again. It’s unlike any other city I’ve experienced and I can’t wait to go back.

We got SO lucky with the weather; it started snowing about an hour after we landed and didn’t stop until the day we left. The city was covered in a fresh blanket of snow everywhere we looked and it was absolutely magical. According to the locals it was the first real snow of the season and just days before everywhere you looked was either brown mountain or man-made snow, so we truly couldn’t have planned our travel dates any better.

Though we didn’t ski or snowboard this trip, we still had an absolute blast exploring the cute downtown area and lounging at our hotel: Westgate Park City. Highly recommend this location if you’re looking for a central hotel to stay at on your trip.

If you’re going to ski or snowboard, you can quite literally ski right outside the hotel and right onto a lift. Extremely convenient and a perfect way to beat the crowds of cars coming into the parking lot on peak weekend days.

The hotel has a stunning indoor/outdoor pool, sauna & steam room that we took advantage of, and a few jacuzzis that make lounging in the snow feel like luxury. Other features I loved about our room were the steam shower, HUGE jacuzzi bath tub in the master bedroom, and the room layout that made us feel like we were in our own apartment complete with a full kitchen and large dining table (& fireplace in the living room!).

We also got to experience both restaurants on site which did not disappoint. Drafts is the perfect spot to grab a burger and ice cold beverage after hitting the slopes or exploring downtown. They’re also known for their INSANE milkshakes – I’ve truly never seen anything like them! If you’re looking for upscale restaurants in Park City to wind down after a day of exploring, Edge steakhouse is amazing – we only stopped in for drinks and some appetizers but the menu was incredible. They also recently started offering outdoor dining in your own igloo if you reserve in advance – it’s on our bucket list for next time we return because it looked so fun, absolutely recommend you go that route!

Downtown is one long road, so it’s easy to hit everything on your list in one weekend. There are a ton of cute eateries, lots of shopping, and some cute coffee shops sprinkled throughout. As far as COVID goes, indoor eating was allowed, but like everywhere else – masks were enforced. Despite the world climate, the overall energy in town was high. We had a blast and felt safe while doing it.

Now let’s talk about things to do in Park City, Utah:

WHERE WE WENT: PARK CITY

COFFEE

  • Atticus Coffee Tea Community – cute bookstore inside
  • Five Seeds

BREAKFAST

  • Harvest – aussie breakfast spot right in downtown; avo toast, acai with homemade granola & fresh juice
  • Five Seeds – aussie breakfast spot that was highly recommended! It requires a short drive as it’s not in the main downtown strip but it was just as good as everyone suggested.

LUNCH

  • Drafts (at the Westgate Park City) – AMAZING burgers, sweet potato waffle fries, and beer

DINNER

  • Edge Steakhouse (at the Westgate Park City) – the menu looked incredible but we only grabbed apps / drinks; they serve popovers to every guest with Lavender Basil butter which is to-die-for; Spicy Shrimp and Steak Sashimi are must-haves.
  • 350 Main – really fun vibe, good food and drinks
  • Butcher’s Chop House & Bar – honestly wasn’t that impressed with their service but the food was good, and you can eat outside in igloos (we thought that’s what we reserved but we accidentally reserved a Yurt, which is not the vibe, so make sure to clarify!)

DRINKS

  • Old Town Cellars – Winery & lounge we hit for pre-dinner drinks; vibey and intimate
  • The St. Regis Deer Valley – take the gondola to the top for happy hour, to see the champagne toast on the patio, espresso martinis and the best French Onion soup you’ll ever have
