Finding the perfect pair of high waisted vintage denim shorts has proved to be one heck of a task.
As soon as Levi’s exploded back onto the scene as the perfect must-have vintage high-rise denim, they put all other brands to shame.
No one could really recreate that perfect vintage look as well as they did, and not nearly as effortlessly.
If you’re like me, then you may have run into the additional problem that your body is just not-so-Levi’s-material (at least not according to the 55+ Levi’s styles I’ve tried on in the last year) and have since given up on the never-ending hunt.
I’m here to tell you that you should NOT give up, because if you’re in the Santa Monica area (or have access to internet) then you need to RUN/CLICK ASAP to Subdued.
No, this post is not sponsored.
No, this post is not happening because I happen to work at Subdued.
This post is happening because I finally got my hands on some high-waisted ‘vintage’ denim that has me convinced that not all shorts have to be Levi’s to achieve that look we’re all going for.
Subdued only has a few different denim selections in-store and online, but what they do have is AMAZING.
The best part is that regardless of what style you end up choosing, chances are you are going to love the wash.
They really only focus on 4-5 different denim washes because what they’ve designed just works.
My shorts are literally called “vintage mom shorts” which is amazing because that’s exactly what I was going for.
I sized up 2 sizes from what I normally wear because the brand is technically for high school girls, AND they’re designed in Italy…so to be safe/achieve the look I was going for…I grabbed a 27. They’re perfect, and I love them oh so much.
(Can’t forget to shout out Hat Attack – their summer items are SO CUTE. I die for this clutch. Link at the bottom!)
